The Cuckoo Trail. This picturesque trail follows the former ‘Cuckoo Line’ railway track and stretches from Heathfield (5 miles) to Eastbourne Park. The 14 mile surfaced path takes you through the Sussex countryside and is mostly traffic free making it a safe route for walkers and cyclists of all ages.

Camber Sands

Surely one of the best sandy beaches in the UK? 7 miles of sand and dunes and not one single amusement arcade in sight.


Award winning seafront, clean seas, pebble beaches. Visit the sovereign harbour marina for lunch and enjoy an exhilarating power boat adventure to the Sovereign lighthouse.


The pebbled beach, Brighton Pier’s amusement arcade and the Royal Pavilion are the main sights, but you’ll also find hundreds of pubs and clubs catering to an energetic crowd.

Shopping & Entertainment

Mayfield is generally accepted to be one of the finest villages in East Sussex with its elegant main street full of attractive medieval buildings. It is a village bustling with activity with its wide variety of shops including a delicatessen selling local produce, butchers, fine wine shop, tea rooms and two pubs.

The spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells (10.5 miles) has the delightful Pantiles, famous for its grand architecture and cobbled streets; the perfect place to stop for a coffee or a light lunch at one of its delightful coffee shops or restaurants.

Battle (15 miles), the site of the 1066 Battle of Hastings, is steeped in history with a multitude of castles and historic sites to visit.
