Before you book
How many people can stay?
We can accept up to 18 guests including children – i.e. those on your guest list. No extra guests are permitted.
What is included?
Egyptian cotton bed linen
Bathroom towels
Summer months: charcoal and firelighters for the outdoor barbecue.
Initial set up of all basic kitchen and domestic essentials: tea towels, washing up liquid and tablets, toilet rolls, black bags, cleaning products, tea, instant coffee, sugar. Cooking spray oil, salt and pepper.
Hand soap, shower gel and hair shampoo
What are the check-in/check-out times?
Our arrival time is 4 pm and departure time is 10 am. If you would like to extend your stay we charge £50 per hour extra. Please enquire if you would like this option, as it is subject to availability.
What is the minimum stay?
Minimum stay: one night midweek; two nights over a weekend in low season, three nights over a weekend in high season.
Do you have exclusive use of the property?
Yes. Your group has exclusive use of The Stables and Hayloft, plus the separate detached Games Barn, throughout your stay. The Stables and Hayloft are positioned opposite each other, while the Games Barn is a separate detached building within the grounds. The Games Barn houses your own private pub, complete with bar and beer pumps, as well as a range of of pub games.

How many bathrooms are there?
Six ensuite bathrooms and One separate shower room.
How do The stables and Hayloft work together?
They are adjacent properties, and can only be booked together.
Are cots available?
We have 2 cots available.
Facilities
Is the swimming pool available?
The outdoor heated swimming pool is available by arrangement only, in the months of July & August between 9 am and 6 pm. Please mention this on your booking request and it will be arranged for you.
Can we use the tennis court?
The tennis court on the estate can be used by arrangement with Theresa. Racquets and balls are provided.
Can we fish?
Fishing is permitted with a fishing licence. There are carp, tench, roach and trout. Please bring own fishing rod.
What is in the Games Barn?
Your own private pub- housed in a separate Games Barn. A bar with working beer pumps and lager taps and optics. Pool table, football table, poker table. Sink, dishwasher and fridge. Toilet.
Is Wi-Fi available?
There is WiFi but limited mobile network.
Food & drink
Can we bring our own food?
Feel free to bring your own food. There is a chest freezer and two fridges in the Stables and a fridge/freezer in the Hayloft.
Can we arrange catering?
We can give you a list of several local caterers for you to arrange catering directly. They have all been used by previous guests and recommended.
Can we order beer for the pumps?
The bar is not stocked, so feel free to bring your own selection of drinks. The optics take up to 1 litre bottles.
If you wish to use the pumps, beer can be ordered from Lakedown Brewery which is a local brewery. Nearer the time of your stay we will provide you with a link to their ordering system which will show current availability and enable you to purchase at trade prices. Prior to your arrival we will collect the cask on your behalf, clean the pipes and settle the beer ready for your arrival. After your stay we will return the cask on your behalf and clean the system. There is a charge of £60 for this service (which would be in addition to your purchase of the beer). Lakedown also brew Pilsner (lager) and other gas driven keg ales which cannot be attached to the hand pumps but for which we can supply dispensing equipment at the same cost as above. Please contact us for further details on any of the above or if you wish to put in an order.
Can we get supermarket deliveries?
It is possible for you to arrange for a supermarket delivery but please ensure that the delivery time is after your arrival, so that you can be there to unpack and put chilled foods away. Supermarkets that deliver here include Sainsburys, Tesco, Ocado and Waitrose and Cook. Groups & celebrations
Can we arrange activities?
Clay pigeon shooting can be arranged for your group, ask Theresa for prices and details. For other activities please see our ‘Extras’ page for Activities + Catering packages which can be arranged at the property.
Can we have music?
There are speakers in the Games Barn with bluetooth connection. No external amplified system can be brought in.
What time does outdoor noise have to stop?
The playing of music or making a noise which is clearly audible is not permitted after 11.00 pm.
Can I fish on the lake?
Fishing is permitted with a fishing licence. There are carp, tench, roach and trout. Please bring your own fishing rod.
How can I arrange to use the swimming pool?
The swimming pool can be used in July & August between 9 am and 6 pm, by arrangement with Theresa.
Practical information
Can we bring dogs?
Merrieweathers accepts a maximum of two dogs and these must be disclosed to us when booking. There is a £40 per dog fee. There is an enclosed gated courtyard. They must not be left unattended. No puppies.
Is there parking?
There is plenty of parking at the front and back of the Stables.
