Wow- the photos do not do this place justice. The house and barn are stunning. Finished to a really high standard. The icing on the cake is the pub with full games room. To say we had fun was an understatement. Theresa is a great host, organised clay pigeon shooting on the grounds and a keg for the pub. 

All I am trying to do now is find an occasion when we can go back again. If you are looking for a large house for any type of event, then don’t hesitate-just book this. It s amazing.

 I wanted to pop you a quick note to thank you so very much for a truly spectacular weekend at Merrieweathers! 

Our father had absolutely no idea of the weekend, and has been blown away by not only the sheer magnificence of the house and facilities, but also the array of activities we were able to arrange (clay pigeon shooting with Tony, Bay Tree Foods, Chris the pianist and also Alan’s wonderful knowledge of the AV for the video messages and family film we had created! 
We really lucked out with the weather and in all honesty, couldn’t have asked for anything more. The house was just perfect for us as a family, and our father’s 70th birthday will certainly be one to remember.

We had a wonderful stay at Merrieweathers. The great hall was fantastic for our work off site meeting with large projector screen and plenty of chairs. Also very clear instructions on how to use the equipment. The kitchen was big enoughfor us all to cook together and then eat at the large dining table. Excellent accommodation – ideal for a countryside getaway. It is a large and spacious, but also cosy and comfortable, place to stay. Many thanks to Theresa for her hospitality and providing everything we needed (including breakfast). We made full use of the restaurant, deli and wine shop in the nearby village, whilst the home cinema system is perfect for a relaxing night in. The surrounding area is also ideal for walks.

Our weekend stay at the Stables was amazing. We really lucked out with the picturesque snowfall covering the surrounding countryside but regardless the Stables is a great place to unwind for a few days. Located near a great pub called the Rose and Crown and not too far from the high street makes this a great location whilst also being quite secluded down a private road for a peaceful and quiet sleep. The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty of land for walking and exploring and the jaccuzi makes for a great way to relax when you get back. The huge cinema screen was also great! Thank you Theresa and your family for being great hosts. We hope to return one day.

We booked to stay at Theresa’s place for our wedding. I got ready there the night before with my mum and sisters and then went back to after the ceremony with my new husband! The flat was spotless and has the wow factor. The living space is huge… Lots of room for me to get ready which was perfect. The bedroom and the jacuzzi bath were incredible… As was the home cinema! It was great to relax with my family in our face masks with a chick flick on the big screen. My husband also loved the place when we arrived that evening. Theresa was very accomodating of us allowing us to pick up cars a little later in the day. I also had some stunning photos outside the stable doors.

We had an amazing weekend at Merrieweathers with all the family to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday. We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay- everything was perfect and the pub in the garden was a great favourite with us all. We had caterers in on the Saturday evening which was great and on the Sunday we went to the Middle House in Mayfield for Sunday lunch, we would highly recommend it. Theresa was a wonderful host, very obliging and friendly and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her in fact we all want to go back in the summer so that we can use the pool.

We spent an absolutely perfect overnight in Theresa’s stables conversion at the weekend. The bedrooms were massive, beds comfy and had a lovely ensuite bathroom attached. Also in the property was a gigantic living room with comfy chairs and a projection screen (although we didn’t take advantage of this). In terms of location it was nothing short of idyllic with no traffic noise at all as it is 1/2 mile from the nearest public road. In fact the only noise we heard was from the nearby farm animals but even this was very minimal. A short walk (30mins) up to the village gave us a couple of choices for food and the relaxed downhill walk was easily navigated even with a couple of local beers to “help” guide the way.

We could see that this was a place that they had put so much love and work into, and they were kind enough to let us stay! The place was great for relaxing in and we couldn’t fault it. The 10ft cinema screen really is amazing and such a clever way to make use of the space (we were inspired). The Jacuzzi bath was very relaxing and we enjoyed playing ping pong in the quad too as well as going back to childhood playing the piano. Overall was a fantastic weekend away and Theresa is such a fantastic host. Very responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back when we need to escape city life again!

We have just returned from a wonderful stay in the stables. The property is breathtaking… the living area is superb, the bedroom is extraordinarily comfortable, and the surroundings of the property are beautiful. Theresa and her husband were fantastic hosts making sure they went the extra mile to ensure that we were always happy…The 10ft cinema screen was unbelievable! The surround sound system was amazing, and if you are a movie buff I couldn’t recommend this place more! There are some beautiful walks in the surrounding areas, directly from the property and also within a half an hour drive. We particularly enjoyed the loop from The Hare at Langton Green around Groombridge Place. Thank you again Theresa for a wonderful weekend.

We sadly stayed just for one night, and it was a pity because the house is so beautiful we fell in love immediately and we didn’t want to leave anymore. It’s even more incredible in person, every single detail is refined and charming, and it’s a huge, elegant and quiet space. The jacuzzi was the icing on the cake: after a long day of travelling, it was just perfect. Not to mention the cinema screen: simply wonderful! The house was a little difficult to find in the dark, but it was so worth it, and Theresa was really helpful and kind. I really hope to come back again as to visit the splendid countryside!

The hosts are efficient and friendly. The wider area is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Mayfield and Rotherfield are very interesting and historic places for a walk and a meal or coffee on multiple occasions. Other villages and towns in the area offer different and special characters.
