Befitting for this country house the oak panelled Entrance Hall does not disappoint with its sweeping staircase, grand piano and galleried landing. From the staircase view the garden and lakes through Sir Thomas Brock’s spectacular window.
Go back in time and dine in the oak panelled Dining Room. The open fire and wall hung candles provide a magical setting for that special meal. The table comfortably sits 18 people but can be laid for up to 20. On winter days the low lying sun streaming through the art deco windows, overlooking the front lawn, creates the perfect setting for lunch. The dining table can transform into a snooker table.
The large Drawing Room provides an ideal location to gather for pre-dinner drinks, or a comfortable room to unwind and watch television. Gather in here as a family on special occasions to open presents and make those lasting memories.
At the heart of the house the kitchen contains all the mod cons you will need alongside the 4 door Aga, every cook’s dream (don’t worry if you haven’t used one before, full instructions are provided). The kitchen is perfect for hosting large parties; facilities include a microwave, fridge/freezer, a large larder incorporating a second, catering sized fridge and four dishwashers. If you would rather not cook on your holiday you can hire your very own personal chef and butler, which can be arranged for you, to create that perfect meal. Alternatively there are many public houses in the area serving delicious food, including the Middle House, a large medieval inn at the heart of Mayfield village, which has an extensive menu and is well worth a visit.
The Breakfast Room which is open plan to the kitchen will sit up to 18. The glass covered well and open fire place are two of the features of this room. On sunny days the doors open onto a large terrace with plenty of outdoor furniture and views over one of the lakes; perfect for a late leisurely breakfast.
The Brock Suite
A haven in itself, the master suite boasts a multitude of features. Take the weight off your feet in the seating area with a 50 inch TV with surround sound or treat yourself to a spa in the double spa bath in the impressive attic dressing room and en-suite accessed by a private staircase. The private balcony, leading off the dressing room, is the perfect place to view the garden and sip a gin and tonic in the early evening. King sized bed and single day bed.
